Nintendo DS to make its movie debut!

A news post over at Nintendo tells about the Nintendo DS' s motion picture debut. The movie, Stormbreaker, is set to debut in the UK on July 21st, while it is set to release in the US on October 6th. In the movie, the DS is used as a multi purpose Spy device by inserting diffirent "cards". I Am assuming these are either DS or GBA cartridges, but who can know for sure until they come out with the movie.

First Leaked Image of Live Action Transformer

Well, there it is. That's all we get for now. Apparently Jalopnic had more but Paramount asked them to take it down and they totally wussed out. Regardless, that's still some incredible stuff in that one shot. The animatronics there are so fantastic they look computer generated. Supposed to be Bumble Bee by the way. He must be in the middle of transforming. How embarrassing for him.

HD DVD and Blu-ray DOA

I've always had a nagging feeling whenever I read anything about the new high-definition DVD formats. While the technophile in me was totally down for a medium that finally allowed full use of a HD television, the practical side of me saw serious road blocks. Largest of these hurdles rang especially true for me. I don't myself own an HD television. And I know I am not alone. HD has a pitifully low penetration in the market and it's not getting better soon. Now that this article has outlined the rest of the problems for HD DVD and Blu-ray it has become quite clear that HD on a disc at the store will not be beating DVD as we know it today. Now, HD that you downloaded on your new Mac from iTunes on the other hand...

RVB on XboxLive

So, for all of you who enjoy RvB, they have a post on their Site that talks about their new series for Xbox360 owners, Out of Mind, which can be downloaded on your 360. Pretty cool huh. Man I wish I had a 360.

WNBC Today June 21 - Vincent Ferrari Interview

As a freelance tech, I have numerous occasions to assist clients in dealing with AOL. Whether this be canceling an account, asking why they upgraded the account with out permission or just trying to get the dang software to work. Once of the most dreaded times is when you have to talk to accounts retention. These people will do anything short of threats on the lives of your family to get you to NOT cancel the accounts. It is so nice to see someone record these people and out AOL as the techno-single-celled ameba it is.

Cool Cross-stitch? Yeah!

Are your shoes just too boring? Why not add a little Final Fantasy~

I dunno what the message would be by having a bomb on your bum, but it's pretty cute. :)

Always wanted a Dr. Mario t-shirt and could never find one?

Need that perfect Wedding gift for the old-school gamer in your life?

Or have a Zelda freak on your list?

What would I do without Craftster? :)

Yarr! There be pirates in them there waters.

Forget the Seven Seas, Head on over to the Burning Sea, where Pirates And Navy clash in epic battles. Although this MMO is still in beta, from what I have seen and played, this game rocks. Your characters are highly customizable, and you have the option of being either Pirates or Navy. Not only that, the visuals are stunning, and the game play is extremely versatile. You can run around town, talk to people, or you can set sail on the high seas to go between islands, and engage in ship battles. The game even features different classes of ships, and different types of shot you can use in your cannons, including chain shot, and grape shot. And of course, you gotta have a shot of a pretty lady.

Sweet Golf MMO

For all of you who enjoy golf games, There is this sweet golf MMO called Albatross 18: Realms of Pangya. It's fun ad the great thing is its free. The only thing you have to pay for is optional stuff through a system called the cookie system. But if you want more info about that you can hop over to their site. Out of all the golf games I have played, it is most definitely my favorite. And the best thing is, it's online. And its even parent approved. My friends dad plays it more than he does.

Apple PowerBook = Wii Wanna-be?

Check this out! Apple has apparently come out with something called the AMS2HID. This neat little piece of Apple hardware is the key to making your Powerbook an early version of a Wii controller! Check it out it's pretty stinking cool if you ask me! It actually integrates itself with almost all the functions of the laptop: Everything from that neat little game with the ball (you know that annoying one with the crazy physics that you can never get past the 5th level) to scrolling thru your browser window and "flying" around in Google Maps. It doesn't look particularly useful for the most part, but just the concept of having an accelerometer on a laptop is a neat thought. With the popularity of the accelerometer and the release of the holographic disk and hologram stuff this year, I'm intrigued to think about some of the technologies that may be coming out in the not to distant future. Holographic computers anyone ?

PAX

I really cant believe that Frank has not made a post about this already. I mean come on, he showed it to me. Anyways, this is like, the best gaming convention ever. PAX is always held in August. In '04, I got to play halo 2, 3 months before it came out. Last year, they had Twilight Princess as a playable demo. And it all started with a simple, yet awesome webcomic. Penny-Arcade.com. If you have any questions or thoughts about PAX, simply go to the Forums and make a topic. But please, post responsibly, and look through previous threads before you make your own. Because as many of us well know, double posts just get annoying. So look around the main site, read the webcomic, and browse the forums. and if you are interested, maybe I will see you there.

Farewell for the time being,
~Nephirij~

Nephirij joined your party.

Greetings, Readers. I am Nephirij.

I am the new guy, who will be telling you About whatever I find interesting. You will probably hear alot abour the Penny-Arcade Expo (PAX) from me, because, well, I basically live on their forums. I am honored to be a part the team, and thank you in advance for all of your wonderful comments.

Real Nausicaa Glider

A certain Kazuhiko Hachiya from japan has taken it upon himself (and a team of artists and engineers) to actually build the Mehve jet-powered glider from Hayao Miyazaki's film Nausicaa. I really don't know what to write about this. The shear level of nerd godliness displayed hear has left me without words to convey its breadth.

Real Life Sixth Sense

Have you ever wanted a sixth sense ? Ever wonder what it would be like to be able to actually feel magnetic fields? As it turns out you can ! A couple of body-modification artists came up with a way to make it so you can actually FEEL electro magnetic fields. All it takes is an earth magnet, a finger, and a painful little cut to equip with this ability. Jarrel now says that he can actually feel magnetic fields even as weak as his laptop hard drive!

He can even tell how strong the fields is by how much the earth magnet oscilates within his fingertip! Kind of a neat concept. But I think I'll pass. There's something about coming to close to a particularly large magnet and having your finger ripped off doesn't sound to pleasant to me... Though I still think it's pretty cool.

I wonder what it's like to go into an airport for this guy ... ?

The New Guy In Town

Hi guys! I'm the new blogger in town and I'm glad to be here. Things I like to do include: Long walks on the beach, pretty flowers, lengthy poems involving all kinds of symbolism I can never quite seem to understand, .... Okay so not really. =P Anyway, I'll be the one bloggin' bout games and cool technology stuff. I'll post something cool as soon I find something.

Breakthrough: Computers Generate 3D Models from 2D Images

I don't completely understand how this works but I didn't invent it so that's not surprising. What is surprising are the implications brought on by software that can create 3D models from your everyday photographs. Now all we need is some kind of good 3D display and even old films could be new again and 3D! Yay?

Knitta~ A Different Kind of Graffiti Tagging

If you ever go out to your car one day and find a hand-knitted antenna cozy on it, it just might be one of these people.

Completely unrelated to video games, but too cool nonetheless.

You may have heard of these guys before, as they have been in the real news and even the fake news on SNL, but if you haven't seen their pics or checked out their site you should go give it a look. Knitta Please!
