Verizon Introduces "Super Fast" 20/20 FiOs Internet Service... Grown Men Cry

Verizon announced today that they will soon be offering 20/20 FiOs service to the states of New York, New Jersey and Conneticut. Now, I must insist you sit down for this next part... okay prepare yourself. 20/20 means simultaneous 20 Mbps uploads and downloads. That means you could download a DVD in it's entirety with no quality loss in about a half hour! Holy snot that's freaking insane!

But the cost is going to also be insane, you say? Nope. Verizon has been quoted as saying the price will be as low as $65 a month. At the rate Verizon is going with increasing the bandwidth and potential speeds, we may finally be up to speed with the rest of the world. For example, the average internet user in Japan averages around 60 Mbps.

Like I said, while this news is awesome for the lucky fools who live in New York, New Jersey, and Conneticut, the rest of us are left in the dark as to when it'll come to the rest of us. Let the tears fall, it's okay.

It would be nice if everyone would have it, but then again... Even in the PDX greater area, there are Major areas that have no FIOS coverage.

Yeah I'm trapped in the God forsaken Qwest region and have absolutely no hope of EVER getting fiber, thanks to some stupid laws that require Verizon to build a network from scratch here. That's something Verizon will never do, and Qwest is bankrupt so it can't afford to do anything comparable. Thanks stupid companies and governments!
